Nursing Home gives you the opportunity to serve the dignity of the human person. By being a volunteer every third of the month you are able to bring a smile to the people at Bernard Chan Village through your wonderful company, conversations and shared experiences. What's more is that you also develop friendships amongst the people at the nursing home as well as with the other fellow CASSians who go on a regular basis. A very much loved and long term community service in CASS! Everyone is welcomed to come but please note that most of the residents at the Chinese nursing home are Cantonese and Mandarin speaking. =p |

So, how can I help??
By law, some community services (including Soup Kitchen and Buddies Day) require helpers to do a special course free of charge, covering basics such as food handling, health and safety, etc. Of course, besides enabling you to serve in our community services, skills you acquire in these courses also help get you further in society. CASS currently organises for members to take part in these courses together, so if you are interested, please contact Linda Mou and/or Joseph Wong! Do note, that members participate in CASS Community Services at their own risk. Although there are no evident dangers in any of the work involved, CASS will not take responsibility for any losses or damages arising from your participation in a Community Service activity.
Anyone is most welcome to join in any of the Community Services activities, providing that you notify the Community Services Coordinator of the uni in charge. Should you have any further queries about Community Services, please do not hesitate to contact your university CASS branch's Activities Coordinator, or email the Central CASS Activity Coordinators: Linda Mou and Joseph Wong at activities@cass.asn.au.
